Ascend Standards

At Ascend Financial, our mission is to build an efficient, effective work environment where every agent can do their best work. Our systems aren't guesswork — they're deeply thought out, tried, tested, and proven to work, time and again. But they only work when we work them. Trust the process, follow the training our leadership has built, and the results follow.

Below are some of the standards every agent on this team is expected to abide by.

Hours

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Agents are expected to be logged on to the dialer system by 9:55 AM at the latest.

Finishing Early

If you finish your calls for the day (per your tier) prior to 5:00 PM — you're good!

Example: if you're on Pro Tier and finish your 5 calls for the day at 3:00 PM, you're free to enjoy the rest of your day.

Once you're out of budget for the day, send a message in the Epic Life customer service chat with OOB (Out Of Budget) so it's on record.

In-Office Requirement (First 30 Days)

In-office agents are expected in by 9:30 AM for their first 30 days of going live (taking calls).

Agents will be required to submit at least one call per week for their upline to review, to ensure consistent progression. More details on reviews are in that specific section of Discord.

Zero Tolerance for Complaining

ABSOLUTELY ZERO complaining will be tolerated.

Anything you're unhappy with should be communicated to your direct upline. No negative talk within any work-related chats/servers will be tolerated.

🔒 For Ascend team members only — not for outside distribution.

✅ Checklist for Success

Core aspects of inbound life insurance.

✅ Checklist for Success

Core aspects of inbound life insurance — reference this for self-audit.

These are some of the core aspects of what makes someone successful with inbound life insurance. It isn't in any specific order, because they're all important. This should be something every agent references for self-audit.
1
Play the Role
It's important to keep a constant self-reminder that we are to maintain a customer service tonality, mentality, and process. It ensures the client trusts us, and trusts that we're detached from the decisions they make about their own policy.
2
Keep It Past Tense
We keep everything past tense to maintain urgency and keep the customer engaged.
3
Make It Make Sense
Always tie everything you say back to the reason for their call. For example, if we ask about life insurance when their reason for calling had nothing to do with it, we simply need to explain beforehand — using our training — why we're asking, so it always makes sense to the customer. Making it make sense also means explaining as little as possible while still getting the point across efficiently.
4
Use Unbiased Language
Remain unbiased throughout the conversation. Staying unbiased is a big part of what keeps the customer's trust intact throughout the call.
5
Tonality & Verbal Pacing
Have proper tonality throughout the conversation and take advantage of it, along with good verbal pacing. Tonality shapes how trustworthy and natural you sound — the same words said with the wrong pace or tone can come across as scripted or pushy. Staying deliberate with both keeps the call feeling like a real conversation instead of a pitch.
6
Reassure the Customer
Reassure the customer throughout the entire pitch, tying it back to the original reason they called — this keeps their attention on the real concern behind their life insurance need instead of letting it drift.
7
Proactively Beat Objections
Get ahead of objections before they happen. For example, if you're in the application and it comes time to address a price increase, instead of just stating it and leaving room for them to object, let them know earlier why most people are okay with the increase — so by the time it comes up, it's already been addressed.
8
Maintain the Sales Process
The sales process is the fully proven backbone of our success. During the pitch, if we move to the next part of the process and the client's response doesn't satisfy what that part actually needed, it's important to recognize that and circle back before moving forward — not push ahead anyway.
9
Everything You Say Either Helps You or Hurts You
Nothing is neutral. Every sentence either builds the sale or works against it.
10
Serve, Not Sell
Think about ways to provide value to the customer rather than just getting a sale. Serve, not sell.
